Role Profile
The Area Manager – Delivery is responsible for ensuring seamless day-to-day delivery operations across assigned restaurants and markets. The role acts as the primary operational bridge between store teams and delivery aggregators, ensuring restaurants have the right setup, processes, and visibility to succeed on platforms such as Talabat, Deliveroo and others.
This role requires deep knowledge of restaurant operations, an understanding of store-level constraints, and the ability to translate operational challenges into actionable solutions with aggregator partners. The Area Manager ensures optimal delivery performance across speed, customer experience, menu availability, and platform hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure stores are operationally exceling in delivery, including prep time discipline, packaging quality, menu hygiene, and smooth rider handover.
- Act as the primary link between store teams and aggregator operations to resolve daily issues such as cancellations, rejections, outages, mapping errors, integration failures, or radius adjustments.
- Monitor key delivery metrics (prep time, delivery time, acceptance rate, cancellations, customer ratings) and drive targeted improvement actions across stores.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date menus across all aggregators, ensuring pricing, imagery, availability, and item tagging are correct.
- Conduct regular store visits to identify bottlenecks in order flow, pickup areas, capacity, and operational setup, and implement corrective actions.
- Support store teams with training on aggregator systems, Integrations, tablets, SOPs, and performance expectations.
- Collaborate with brand ops, marketing, and tech teams to ensure readiness for campaigns, new item launches, and new store openings.
- Improve rider experience at stores by optimizing pickup processes, staging areas, and throughput efficiency.
- Review performance dashboards weekly and escalate recurring issues that require central or aggregator intervention.
- Provide on-ground insights to the Delivery Lead to support strategic discussions with aggregators and internal teams.
Requirements
- Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Business, Hospitality, Operations Management, or related discipline.
- 4–7 years of experience in restaurant operations, delivery management, or multi-unit operations within F&B brands.
- Strong understanding of store-level operational challenges in fast-paced restaurant environments.
- Hands-on experience with delivery aggregators, operational dashboards, and POS–aggregator integrations.
- Problem-solver with the ability to diagnose operational bottlenecks and implement solutions quickly.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coach store teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a passion for operational excellence.
- Strong Excel/Power BI skills for performance monitoring and root-cause analysis.
