Brief Description of Role:
The role holder will deliver successful outcomes commensurate with divisional / brand needs. The key requirements will include (but are not limited to) effective management of teams, analysis and management of data and information and recommendation of suitable activity to achieve successful business outcomes.
 
Activity related to this group of roles includes, but is not limited to:
Item Attribution / PO Confirmation, Product Demand Planning & Forecasting, Allocations & Replenishment and analysis, Tactical event planning, feasibility and analysis, In Season Trading - Pricing / Promotion / MD management, Communication- Trading- Stores- Brand, Adhoc Analysis
 
Content of the role profile will be determined by 3 core elements:
  • Know-how: the level of skill, knowledge or experience required to deliver successful outcomes
  • Accountability: the extent to which the role is responsible for delivering overall success in the function (accountability for success within the role is implicit). Further, this element identifies if there is any responsibility for work instructions to direct reports.
  • Problem Solving: the level to which the role holder will determine the activity within the function, the extent to which the role is required to create solutions
 
Role requirements:
  • These will vary according to division / brand. Role holder will be responsible for successful completion of the following elements related to these tasks:
  • Supervision and management of merchandising teams. Issuing of work instructions, delegation of workloads and alignment of activities.
  • Planning, monitoring, review and measuring of activity. Recommend and implement adjustments and adaptations to meet business requirement.
  • Collaboration and co-operation with internal teams. Effective communication of work activities and corporate agenda.
 
Know-How
Role holder should be educated to (Level 6 equivalent) – College / undergraduate level or have gained commensurate experience in the relevant field in lieu. The role holder will demonstrate advanced technical competence in relevant IT systems and solutions. Required to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English and have advanced numerical reasoning skills. Demonstrable competence in general office related duties and effective communication. Management experience or qualifications will be necessary.
 
Accountability
Role holder will be responsible for successful, timely and quality completion of issued tasks. This will include the supervision, work instruction, performance management and development of direct reports.
 
Problem Solving
The role holder will be required to identify the tasks which will be required to deliver success. The role holder will be required to analyze and feedback on work activities and to identify new ways of working or create additional solutions.
