Role Responsibilities:
• Supervise, assign tasks/patrolling areas, and prepare duty schedules/rotas for AP officers, where applicable. • Managing 3rd party security guards and review KPI’s on monthly basis. • Report any Risk, health & safety concern identified to store management and AP Specialist for information/action. • Assign Security/ officers and personally carry out patrol in order to identify customers/employees shoplifting/stealing. • Apprehend/detain store thieves and liaise with local authorities, GRD, Legal. • Report all incidents of customer/employee theft to AP Specialist (even those thefts deterred) and raise it on the CENTRIK. • Prevent/react to incidents of violence involving employee and customers. • Monitor access to employee/store entrance and storage areas to prevent the risk of loss, reporting non-compliance to operations and Line Manager. • Inspect and report against non-compliance of company procedures on tagging. • Lead and assist with random employee searches in accordance with company procedures. • Lead and conduct regular, random, unannounced till reconciliations and report exceptions. • Initiate investigations and operate with line manager in observing/identifying evidence of theft/ malpractice. • Review/monitor Store activities BOD/EOD & E-documentation, financial controls, Stock controls. • Report/ escalating incidents/issues to the line manager for information/action. • Escalate any deposit & banking failure to line manager in all stores within the AOR including the cash collections canters to ensure timely deposits and accuracy. • Increase knowledge base of security guards/employees on common issues/incidents to increase awareness within the business. • Train & upskill team development, new joiner (AP Officers), Immersion plan. • Continuously monitor surveillance cameras and report any malfunctions or issues with security equipment. • Aid in evacuation operations related to health and safety and report any incidents accordingly. • Facilitate access to copies of camera footage for the GRD, HR, police team, and other relevant departments as needed. • Conduct annual plan visits to verify adherence to operational standards. • Conduct awareness visits to educate store teams on security protocols and best practices. • Conduct pre-stocktake visits to high-risk stores to ensure readiness and compliance. • Report any H&S related issues to the Fire health & safety team. • Support with sharing initial findings related to H&S incidents.
Knowledge:
• Good secondary/high school education •General education • Local/civil criminal law (required but not essential) • Employee/customer theft/ malpractice indicators • Health & Safety knowledge
Experience:
• Ability to produce accurate reports both verbal and written. • 2 years retail operations • No criminal convictions or disciplinary misconducts
