Role Profile:
The Hygiene Shift Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all work functions are completed. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring all site cleaning procedures, waste management and pest control activities are being maintained according to their matrix and schedules. The Hygiene Shift Manager will manage relationships with internal departments and external contractors to ensure a professional, efficient, and effective delivery of service.
Communicate with the Operations Manager to ensure attendance, punctuality, and holidays, and to organise replacement staff where necessary.
Always ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures
Responsible for always ensuring compliance with Company Health and Safety and Food safety policies and procedures
Ensure that all chemicals are stored and handled correctly, and hygiene staff are always using appropriate PPE.
Ensure that relevant hygiene equipment and machinery are always maintained to the highest standard reporting faults to relevant personnel for repairs
Arrange work permits, silo isolation and lock off with engineers prior to silo cleaning/ high level cleaning performed by external contractors.
Carry out hygiene audits and inspections of all areas including offices, facilities, yards, silos, high level and any other areas as requested by the Operations Manager.
Provide help, support and training to new staff when they commence employment,
Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of your work area by adopting a ‘clean as you go’ policy
Attend relevant training courses including Food Safety training
Instruct and guide production staff in all cleaning procedures.
Liaise with engineers and production managers to strip down equipment to aid clean down.
Update reports and KPI’s onto the electronic system.
Check chemical dosing units for correct operation and document checks.
Additional role requirements:
Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
The position requires weekend and night shift working. The working pattern may include both Friday and Saturday and public holidays as normal working days.
The role will require site attendance outside of offices hours in the event of an emergency.
