The Corporate Logistics Team plan, move and control the flow of goods from point of origin to point of consumption across all divisions, markets and brands within Alshaya. Working closely with brand teams to ensure appropriate stock and delivery to store, the team manages a range of complex and diverse activities including shipping, freight, warehouse operations, customs clearance (in-bound and out-bound), compliance and project management.
Working in alignment with the Logistics vision/mission statement, the Logistics Business partner will liaise closely with key stakeholders and act as a Strategic Logistics Business Partner to support the Division/Market to successfully achieve its business plan and overall strategy through the effective development, implementation and management of best practice Logistics activities. As the main Logistics interface with key stakeholders the LBP will act as an ambassador for the Logistics function as a whole and demonstrate key Logistics behaviors and values.
The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain internal and external relationships and act as an ambassador for the Company.
Single point of contact for Brand with regard to Supply Chain and Logistics activites.
Collaborate with the various functions within Logistics (Operations, Shipping, Compliance, Group Freight, E-Commerce).
Support Brand Divisional goals and expansion through strategic thinking utilising Brand, Host Brand and Logistics knowledge.
Support Brand to improve relationships with Host Logistics functions. Review then advise on all areas for improvement
Liaise with stakeholders to provide status updates on Logistics.
Understanding and communicating Brand requirements to Logistics.
Improve the delivery of key event planning such as Ramadan, sales initiatives.
Collaborate with the Logistics Project Team to ensure projects are delivered successfully for the Brand.
Improve communication with Host on all compliance and regulatory protocols.
Strategic reviews to improve lead time where possible to sustain profitability.
Collaborate with Logistics operations to ensure daily SLA’s and KPI’s are met.
Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Manage all processes within one’s own area of expertise in line with company policies and procedures and market guidelines.
Deliver clearly defined objectives on time, to budget, at the agreed quality
Responsible for ensuring any projects related to the Brand are achieved to budget
Forecast likely business benefits and track success of all related projects
Ensure that costs are kept to within budgeted levels, continuously looking for additional savings to maximise bottom line contribution.
Use expertise in logistics and supply chain to assess and evaluate the best solutions
Identify risks, issues and opportunities and provide effective solutions to mitigate, resolve or enhance
Deliver engaging, informative, well-organised presentations that enables effective decision making by steering group
Set and manage clear expectations.
Accountable for delivery of cross functional projects through leadership, influence and engagement.
Understanding of Logistics and Supply Chain from a Global perspective.
Global logistics, supply chain or retail processes.
Must have experience in supporting and managing Logistics / Supply Chains.
Experience in managing teams / 3PL’s at a Global level in Supply Chains.
Background within an international shipping, Logistics or retail supply chain business.
Operational experience beneficial but not essential.
Exposure to business analysis and requirements gathering to include best practise process solution definition and implementation.
Solution gathering and implementation of supply chains best practice.
Ability to communicate at a Senior level both internally and externally.
Project Management experience but not essential.
